- Select the Settings app.
- Select the General option.
- Select the Software Update option.
- The device will check if there are any available updates.
Note: if no updates are available, then no further action is needed.
- Available updates will begin downloading.
- The device will begin preparing the update after the update has been downloaded to the device.
- Select the Install option after the update is finished preparing.
- Enter the Passcode for the iPhone.
- Select the Agree option in the lower right portion of the screen.
- A Verifying update message will appear, and the iPhone will restart.
- The phone will display the Apple logo and progress bar, indicating the update completion progress.
- After the update is successful, a message will appear in the notifications area on the device, indicating that the device was successfully updated.
